Roberto Lopez

My feature debut, The Wild Dreamers, is now available to watch directly through my website. I wrote, directed, and shot the film with my two sons over one summer across New Jersey. It’s a small, intimate story about brotherhood, loss, imagination, and the private worlds children create when they’re trying to understand something too big for them.

A lot of my work comes from observing everyday life — small moments, quiet faces, passing memories, and the things people carry but don’t always say out loud. Whether I’m making short vignettes, writing scripts, or working on a feature, I’m always trying to find the emotional truth inside simple moments.

Why I make films

I make films to look closer at ordinary lives: the moments we miss, the emotions we hide, and the choices that quietly shape who we become.
